Between 2017 and 2020, we implemented a programme with Doctors of the World in Niger. Our aim was to improve health risk management by strengthening human and animal health services. This pilot project was guided by the principles of the One Health approach.
For two years, our mixed teams went to meet the 90,000 inhabitants of Ingall (Agadez region) and Sakoira (Tillabéry region). These two rural municipalities were not chosen at random: they are particularly vulnerable to flooding and droughts as well as to the risks of epidemics and epizootics.
