It is with deep sadness that we have learnt the unexpected death of our Malian colleague and friend, Dr Amadou Moctar Diallo, at the age of 56.

Moctar had been a member of the Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgium family for many years. We first met in 2004 in Bamako, Mali, where he worked for our local partner Initiatives Conseil Développement. He managed various projects in collaboration with our organisation. In March 2019, he joined our team in Bukavu as Director of Operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He will be remembered as a remarkable man with great professionalism and strong moral values. Our thoughts go out to his wife and three children in Mali.
